CTC has teamed up with ISTA to ensure consumers and businesses get a double-whammy when it comes to renewable heating systems – a return on their investment and a more profitable heating system.
The Ista heat meters and heat monitoring service give consumers and businesses far greater control of the money they spend on energy bills. The more profitable renewable heating systems this results in is particularly timely with the domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scheme due to launch in spring 2014. The scheme allows people with biomass boilers, ground and air source heat pumps and solar thermal, to earn an income as reward for generating their own heat in a low impact way. It offers the potential to make hundreds of pounds a year from renewable heating systems.
The heat meters record the heating system’s energy usage and local weather data. ISTA use this information to advice people on how they can make better use of their energy. “Renewable heating products are sold on their performance benefits,” said CTC General Manager, Cliff Arnold. “But that performance is often measured in factory conditions, not in real life. Our heat meters make renewable heating and even more attractive proposition. You’ll make the money you invested back and then some with the RHI.”
ISTA is also able to carry out historical audits for businesses existing energy bills, going back as far as six years. “We have found many businesses are either on the wrong tariff, or are paying over the odds on estimated bills,” said Ista Sales Manager Sam Hollis. “We can then speak to their energy provider to arrange reimbursement. This frees up money to invest in renewable technology, ensuring they have greater control over.”
